Baad Salaam e Jameel.

The countdown to Aqa Maula's (TUS) centennial Milad Mubarak commenced on 11th Moharram ul Haram 1432 AH. Throughout Bilade Imaniya, the hundred day period culminating on 20th Rabi ul Akhar will be a period in which mumineen will express their “tafadi” in “shukur” of their Maula's beshumar and continuous ehsanat by engaging in taabudat and offering tribute in various ways.

As a special tribute on Aqa Maula's (TUS) centennial Milad Mubarak, the Toloba group of Arusha , Tanzania organized the Mount Kilimanjaro expedition to scale Africa's summit and place the twin Alams of YA HUSAIN AND 100TH MILAD MUBARAK atop the roof of Africa .

57 mumineen (16 ladies and 41 gents) from 8 centres of the East African Jamiat – Arusha, Eldoret, Kampala , Moshi, Mwanza, Dar-es Salaam, Mombasa and Nairobi participated including 5 of their Ummal Kiram.

Mount Kilimanjaro situated in northern Tanzania is the highest peak in Africa and the highest free standing mountain in the world. It is also considered to be a dormant volcano. Thousands of climbers attempt to scale it every year using one of several routes leading to the summit. Mount Kilimanjaro has two peaks – Kibo and Mawenzi with the former having the summit (Uhuru peak) 19,340 feet above sea level.

Starting from Rongai near the Kenyan border, the group started the climb on 26th December 2010 with a supporting team of 141 porters, guides and cooks. This was a climb with a difference. Despite the cold weather conditions en route to the summit, every night the group used to recite daris and do matam as part of tabudaat.

The final assault was made starting 29th midnight and at dawn 38 of them managed to reach Gilman's point (the second highest point) including the youngest climber, 13 year old Huzeifa Karimjee. Despite the hostile weather and biting cold, 28 of them (22 gents and 6 ladies) finally conquered Kilimanjaro and unfurled the twin banners of YA HUSAIN AND 100TH MILAD MUBARAK atop Uhuru Peak , the roof of Africa .

Congratulations to Janab Sheikh Moizbhai Jamali (Amil Saheb of Arusha), Janab Huzeifabhai Sheikh Tayabali Patanwalla (Amil Saheb of Mwanza) and the rest of the successful team for conquering the Kilimanjaro. Bravo to all the participants for taking part in this historic expedition.  It was an incredible success and can, no doubt be attributed to Aqa Maula's (TUS) yari in their noble endeavour.

May Allah grant our Bawa Shafiq Maula sehat aafiyat malabis fakhera till yawme Qayamat - Ameen.
